Started in 1967 as a family fun day by the now defunct San Antonio JC’s, the San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival is now into its 45 year. Rattlesnake and Gopher Enthusiasts, Inc. (R.A.G.E.) is a 501(c)(3) organization. R.A.G.E. acts as a community chest by donating the proceeds from the festival to local school and church organizations, and other 501(c)(3) organizations. At least 60% of the donations has to be given to youth and educational organizations.
Dates: It is always on the third Saturday of the month of October.
Our mission is to organize an event that will provide good, wholesome, affordable family entertainment, also including educational programs, exhibits and information concerning the environment.

Affordable mock gopher tortoise races, petting zoo, pony rides and a pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings at Saint Anthony's Parrish Center.Low Costs: Snake Show & John Storms’ Reptile Show. Food booths are provided by Festival volunteers and are the lowest prices around. We have world famous Bar-B-Que Chicken (Saturday), hot dogs, corn on the cob, sausage and bar-b-que sandwiches both days along with popcorn, funnel cakes, cotton candy, snow-cones, boiled peanuts and much more.
